The International Industrial Supercomputing Workshop (IISW) goes back to an initiative that created a first meeting in South Korea to discuss the issues that arise when public centers – funded by the government to support research in supercomputing simulation – open their systems to industrial usage. Since then the key topics in industrial supercomputing were discussed in a series of meetings in Asia, the US and Europe. The workshop in September will both bring industrial users to the meeting and allow for a discussion between public centers and industrial customers. The goal is to further identify common problems and potential solutions.
